and ready to begin your SCUBA adventure.
Classes are customized to fit your schedule and move at a pace that feels comfortable to you.
Level 1 Openwater Diver Course SSI/PADI.
This course is your introduction to SCUBA Diving. Upon the successful completion of three phases of SCUBA training, you will be a Certified Open water Diver, which means your SCUBA certification is valid anywhere in the world.
Phase 1: Classroom.
This phase begins with 6 chapters of reading material from the SCUBA Schools International, Open water diver text book. You will also meet with Ken for classroom sessions that correspond
to the chapters in the book. After the classroom sessions are completed you will take a written exam. After you pass the exam you will advance to the pool sessions.
Phase 2: Pool Sessions
Here you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with SCUBA equipment and learn the necessary skills for SCUBA diving in a confined-water setting. You will learn proper technique for donning your equipment, entering and exiting the water, attaining neutral bouyancy and other important skills and techniques. The length of the pool sessions directly relates to your level of comfort in the water. Upon you and your instructor's satisfaction with your confidence in the water, you will qualify for phase 3 of your training, the open water dives.
Phase 3: Open Water Dives
The final phase of your training (The part you've been waiting for) Will take place in an open water setting such as Summersville Lake, Fantasy Lake SCUBA park
or can even take place in the ocean if you choose. You
will need to complete a total of 5 dives within a 2-day period (3 dives on one day and 2 dives on the next.)
Upon succesful completion of your open water dives, you will receive your Open Water Diver SCUBA certification.
Level 1 Openwater Diver Course cost is $200.00 plus required training material
Required training material includes: Training Manual, Dive Tables, DVD and Standard Log Book. $95.00
